Anatomy of a Writer's Office - The Artifacts of Motherhood

Nothing says World's Best Mother (in case you never get to be World's Best Writer) like a couple of gifts made with love and devotion by your child, a turtle paperclip holder, and a pencil holder made from a soup can. I remember when Scott was working on the pencil holder in Cub Scouts. He had silver foil with one blue bow in the middle and I was impressed how simple and elegant it was and proud that he hadn't cluttered it up like some of the other boys were doing. My child had taste! But, alas, he wasn't finished. A little green yarn, some red rickrack, and voila! A masterpiece!
